Did anyone catch Oprah’s Master Class with Morgan Freeman? If not, make sure you catch the re-air, you won’t regret it.
Here are some of Mr. Freeman’s words of wisdom:
Nurture your natural gifts.
Keep it moving, don’t quit and don’t say i can’t.
Declare who you are-he recalls being on unemployment and feeling like it would be impossible to find a job doing what he loved while being forced to look for jobs that were “approved” by unemployment. He declared who he was, an actor to his unemployment counselor and she gave him 6 months to be an actor…
Make the best of every situation-when he booked “The Electric Company” he was extremely grateful, with the surprise success of the show that soon turned to anxiety over the possibility of being typecast as a “character” actor. He spent a lot of time trying to figure out a way to exit the show. The show was a success and ultimately he decided to stay put and learn whatever he what he was suppose to learn. Making the best of his situation.
Do things that challenge your courage.
Understand that the universe is unfolding as it should be.
Mr. Freeman also makes mention of the fact that he didn’t really “Make” it until he was 50.
One thing is for sure. he never lost sight of his dreams. We should all be so lucky.
